Navy Blue Bench Makeover

This navy blue hallway bench was transformed with Peacoat and Black Wax by Samantha from Built N’ Burnt! Check out her story below to learn all about the transformation process.
Hey friends! Today I want to share this hallway bench project I did using Country Chic Paint’s All-In-One Paint. I have noticed that so many people I know have this exact bench, or one very similar to it. My hubby had this handed down to him a few years ago and it’s been in his family for years. I wanted to share just how easy this transformation was!
For this project I decided to use the color, Peacoat (I absolutely adore this rich, navy blue) and some Black Wax. We have a lot of blue accents in our home and Peacoat is the perfect pair.
I started cleaning my bench and removing the hardware. There was so much sand inside the bench from our shoes! I vacuumed it all out and wiped the bench down with a damp cloth. As I’ve used Country Chic Paint before, I knew it wasn’t necessary to sand this particular piece. That’s something I love about this paint! It has amazing coverage, leaving you with less prep work to do before you get started. Who doesn’t love that?
I applied ONE full coat of paint to my bench and let it dry 24 hours before applying Black Wax on the bench seat only as I wanted it to be a bit darker then the rest of the piece. It’s hard to believe I only needed one coat of paint to get such amazing coverage!
