DIY Embossed Wall Plaque Tutorial

Supplies:
- All-in-One Decor Paint in Reverie
- All-in-One Decor Paint in Tropical Cocktail
- Texture Powder
- Country Chic Paint’s Natural Wax
- Antiquing Dust in Willow
- Short-Handle Paint Brush
- A stencil
- Blue painter’s tape
- Putty knife
- Plastic spoon
- Small bowl
- Chip brush
- 3/4 inch pine cut to 5×7″






Step 1)
Sand wood to remove any splinters or rough edges



Step 2)
Using the Reverie, paint the base coat and allow to dry (best to wait 24 hours)



Step 3)
Apply the stencil and tape it with the blue tape.



Step 4)
Mix 1 part texture paint with 1 part paint and stir thoroughly to form a smooth paste.






Step 5)
Using putty knife apply the textured paint over the stencil, remove stencil and allow to dry. (recommended 24 hours)






Step 6)
Using the Tropical Cocktail paint over the entire piece and allow to dry. You may need 2 coats. (Again dry time of 24 hours is recommended)



Step 7)
Distress using sand paper rubbing back just enough to show the base color underneath.






Step 8)
Apply the Natural Wax using the wax brush. Do not wipe or buff yet.






Step 9)
With the dry chip brush apply the Antiquing Dust. Allow it to settle for 30 minutes.






Step 10)
Wipe off the antiquing dust to desired look.
